How to Quantify Bullets When You Don't Have Metrics

Numbers make bullets 3x more memorable. Here's how to find them even when nobody handed you a dashboard.

Where to find numbers

**Time**: how long something took before vs after you.

**Scale**: users, requests, records, teammates, budget.

**Frequency**: how often you did it (weekly, per sprint).

**Range**: the ceiling / floor of the system you touched.

The rewrite pattern

Weak: "Improved the checkout page."

Strong: "Redesigned checkout for ~40k weekly users, cutting drop-off from 22% → 14% over 6 weeks."

Rule of thumb

Every bullet should answer: what did you change, for whom, and by how much?
